Mpumalanga Education on 2007 examinations

The 2007 examinations begins

The Mpumalanga Department of Education will once again deliver on the
administration of the 2007 examinations for all learners registered in Grade 12
(Senior Certificate), Grade 11 (National Senior Certificate) and Adult Basic
Education and Training (Abet) Level 4 examinations.

The conduct and management of the October/November 2007 examinations for
Grade 12 begins with Art on 3 October 2007 followed by a series of mostly
practical subjects before it blows fully with English on 10 October 2007 for
the examinations to be finally completed on 21 November 2007.

A total of 74 485 candidates in all our four regions have been registered
both as full and part time candidates for Grade 12 Senior Certificate this
year.

Currently 77 294 candidates have been captured to write the Grade 11
National Senior Certificate Examinations in preparation for their examinations
on the new curriculum in Grade 12 in the 2008 academic year.

Grade 11 examinations will commence on 5 November and end on 27 November
2007.

9 022 Abet Level 4 candidates will commence their examinations on 10 to 30
October 2007.

The province is well prepared, as all processes are on track and systems in
place to ensure the credibility and smooth running of the examinations.

The department has left no stone unturned in preparing for these
examinations and believes that all candidates are similarly ready to write and
succeed in their examinations.
