Giyani Labour Centre to host community outreach in Masingita Mall
The Department of Employment and Labour in Limpopo Province (iyani Labour Centre), will embark on a community outreach campaign to be held at Masingita Mall on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.
The aim of the outreach is to bring services closer to the people of Giyani and surrounding areas.
Deputy Director Labour Centre Operations, Comfort Nziyane indicated that the outreach is targeting clients who stay in the villages who mostly find it difficult to visit the local office to access departmental services. He said the outreach is the first of many to follow which will be implemented to reach clients in remote areas around Giyani.
Services that will be rendered at the outreach include the processing of Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and Compensation Fund (CF) applications, claims assessment, and assisting clients with enquiries. The Public Employment Services (PES) officials will be assisting work-seekers with registration on the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database for possible future employment opportunities. Additional to the PES registration services, work-seekers will also be assisted and guided on CV writing, interview preparation and career guidance amongst others.
Nziyane is calling out on workers to use this opportunity to come get information concerning the Basic Conditions of Employment, Occupational Health and Safety, and other labour related matters in order to be well informed, and know which steps to take when exposed to unfair labour practice and unsafe working environments.
The outreach campaign will take place at Masingita Mall on the 26th September 2023 from 08h30 until 16h00. Clients are encouraged to bring along ID/passport document, completed UI.19 form, salary schedule and CV’s for work seekers.
