Deputy Minister of Communications & Digital Technologies, Hon. Philly Mapulane to launch the Ya Rona Digital Ambassadors Programme in Buffalo City Metro Municipality
Deputy Minister of Communications & Digital Technologies, Hon. Philly Mapulane, will on Thursday, 10 August 2023 be in the Buffalo City Metro Municipality in Eastern Cape Province for the launch of Ya Rona Digital Ambassadors Programme alongside the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA).
The launch of the Ya Rona Digital Ambassadors Programme, which is aimed at empowering and upscaling communities on basic digital literacies, is part of the Department’s mandate to bridge the digital divide through a concerted programme of skilling South Africans in the use of new digital technologies, and to draw more young people into the economy by addressing the digital skills deficit.
The Deputy Minister will also use this opportunity with the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), to visit one of the several NEMISA Co-Labs in the country which they use for skills training and development in collaboration with universities.
