National Ministerial Water Sector Sustainability Symposium aims to get expert opinion on South Africa’s state of water
Members of the media are invited to a National Ministerial Water Sector Sustainability Symposium aimed at taking stock of the current state of the water sector by experts in the Department of Water and Sanitation, including some of the country’s leading independent water experts who will offer advice that will form future policy position of the department.
The symposium will be a focussed and directed engagement with topics covering areas including water resource security, financial sustainability, service delivery sustainability, pricing and tariffs, and regulation of water services.
Identified water experts will form different commissions on the outlined key areas and make presentations and advise Minister Senzo Mchunu on areas to improve on.
Minister Mchunu along with the two Deputy Ministers, David Mahlobo and Judith Tshabalala will lead a media briefing on how the sector will move forward, working collaboratively with independent water experts from across the country.
