The fundamental challenge that government is constantly fighting has always
been to deliver quality services. To reach this goal, Limpopo Provincial
Government will once again host its Annual Learning Network Conference to
explore and reach a common understanding on speedy service delivery and its
significance in the business of Government.
This programme was launched by the Department of Public Service and
Administration in 2001 to establish knowledge sharing that would enhance the
service delivery improvement in the transformation programme of the public
service.
In Limpopo Province, the first programme on Learning Network Conference was
launched in 2003 and the first conference was in held in Capricorn district on
14 and 15 April 2005. Each department has appointed a Learning Network champion
to drive the programme according to their respective programmes. It is a
mechanism to create a platform for public servants to share and exchange ideas
for the purpose of improving the entire service delivery and also to outline
processes and activities that will lead to the success of improved service
delivery. This programme consists of group of people from different
organisations who share ideas, experience and insights on specific themes and
assist one another in finding solutions.
The purposes of this Learning Network Conference include:
* To facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practice between three spheres of
government.
* To provide a platform of dialogue between different spheres of government on
transformation programme.
* To generate and coordinate learning on service delivery improvement in the
public sector.
* To accelerate the accumulation and dissemination of knowledge within the
province through sharing knowledge with other service
This event is expected to be attended by 300 participants including
officials from all provinces, provincial and national departments,
municipalities, and constitutional bodies, parastatals, and learning
institutions.
