The Acting Premier of North West Province, Rev Johannes Tselapedi, will lead
a government delegation to the areas which were damaged by the storm at
Jouberton in Klerksdorp tomorrow, Monday, 5 March 2007 at 12h00. The area was
hit by a storm today, Sunday, 4 March 2007 and the exact damage is not yet
known; but houses, schools and churches have been damaged and the whole
township is without electricity.
The delegation, which will assess the damage and immediate needs of the
victims, will comprise of, among others, the MEC for Developmental Local
Government and Housing, Phenye Vilakazi, Executive Mayor of Southern District
Municipality, Pinkie Moloi and Executive Mayor of Matlosana, China Dodovu. The
media are invited to join the delegation at the City of Matlosana Municipal
offices at 12h00 after which they will proceed to the affected areas.
