The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (IEC), Dr Brigalia Bam,
cordially invites you to join the celebration of the "10 years of the Electoral
Commission." The IEC was officially established on 1 July 1997, in terms of
chapter nine of the South African Constitution and the Electoral Commission Act
of 1996.

Venue: Gallagher Estate, the Auditorium, Midrand
University of South Africa (Unisa) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Barney
Pityana, will present a lecture under the theme "State of Democracy in South
Africa" and the Chairperson, Dr Bam, will share the Commission's successes and
challenges in the afore-mentioned period.
There will also be a photo exhibition on the history of the IEC under the
theme "A journey of our democracy." Cocktails will be served after the
lecture.
