Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, who
also serves as the Chairperson of South Africa's National Anti-Corruption Forum
(NACF), invites all media to a press briefing on preparations for the fifth
Global Forum on Fighting Corruption and Safeguarding Integrity.
The forum, which is an intergovernmental anti-corruption gathering, will
take place from 2 to 5 April 2007, in South Africa and is expected to attract
about 1 500 delegates from over 100 governments, as well as representatives of
regional and international organisations, practitioners, experts and
academics.
Also present at the media briefing will be the African Union's (AU)
Commissioner for Political Affairs, Ms Julia Joiner, whose organisation is
playing a key role in preparing the rest of the African continent for next
year's Global Forum.
South Africa is the first African country to host the Global Forum on
fighting corruption and safeguarding integrity. The previous hosts are the
United States, Netherlands, South Korea and Brazil.
