families of her provincial cabinet colleagues
8 September 2006
North West Premier Mme Edna Molewa has expressed her heartfelt condolences
to the families of MECs Darkey Africa and Phenye Vilakazi for the passing on of
close members of their families.
MEC Africa, who is MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, lost his uncle
Boinyana Joseph Africa last week whereas MEC for Developmental Local Government
and Housing Phenye Vilakazi lost his mother Mrs Maggie Thateng Vilakazi this
week, in the same year that he lost his daughter.
âIt seems like a dark cloud has descended over the provincial cabinet and
the province at large. None of us is ever prepared for the loss of lives but to
lose many people all at once is even more piercing to our hearts. I would like
to send my heartfelt condolences to all the families, including those of
Matlosana former executive mayor Jaycee Nxamakele, who died with his wife and
two children last week. I wish them all strength in these trying times,â
mourned the premier.
âMay the angels of God bring you comfort at this dark hour and may their
souls rest in peaceâ premier Molewa said.
