The Minister of Minerals and Energy, Buyelwa Sonjica, De Beers and the State
Diamond Trader invite all media to the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement
between De Beers Diamond Trading Company and the State Diamond Trader. The
State Diamond Trader was established in July 2007, and began operating in
September 2007. Its main aim is to promote equitable access to local
beneficiates intending to beneficiate South African unpolished diamonds.
