In his state of the province address in February, Premier Ebrahim Rasool
announced a new round of deliverables, similar to the 100 days, Easter and
Christmas deliverables.
Siyabulela, (we say thank you) is aimed at honouring the youth and women in
the province, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the women's march and
the 30th anniversary of the 16 June uprising.
Provincial Minister of Environment, Planning and Economic Development,
Tasneem Essop will announce her Siyabulela deliverables on 18 August.
In total, Minister Essop has set aside R9 million to assist women and youth
in starting up or strengthening their businesses. Under Economic Development
she has set aside R4 million to support 80 sustainable women's enterprises and
R2 million to support 60 sustainable youth enterprises. In Environmental
Affairs and Development Planning, via Cape Nature, R3 million has been set
aside for sustainable livelihoods programmes.
Premier of the Western Cape, Ebrahim Rasool and Minister Essop will
congratulate the 140 entrepreneurs from across the Western Cape at a luncheon
to be held at the Peninsula Room, Kenilworth Racecourse, Kenilworth from 11h00.

At 14h00, the Premier and Minister Essop will be at Driftsands to announce the
R3 million Siyabulela deliverables in Environmental Affairs.
