Z Skweyiya to meet Social Development MECs, 29 Nov

Social Development Minister, Dr Zola Skweyiya will meet with MECs
responsible for Social Development in all provinces to evaluate priority
programmes embarked on this year and plan for next year on 29 November 2007, at
the Durban International Convention Centre.

Prominent issues for discussion during the MINMEC (Minister and MECs)
meeting include:

* readiness of provinces to implement the Children's Act
* norms and standards for Social Welfare Services and Early Childhood
Development and
* reconstruction and development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
