Sod turning ceremony at the St Clement's Home-Based Care
Project, Clermont, Durban

The Minister of Social Development, Dr Zola Skweyiya, will Friday attend a
sod turning ceremony at the St Clement's Home-Based Care Project, Roman
Catholic Church, Clermont, Durban.

The St Clement's project came into being to do ongoing education and render
support to people affected and infected by HIV/AIDS in Claremont and
surrounding areas. These are densely populated areas with several informal
settlements, a high rate of unemployment, poverty, sexually transmitted
diseases and AIDS related infections. Its areas of operation include amongst
others home-based care, food programmes and orphans and vulnerable
children.

The sod turning ceremony starts at 11h00. The ceremony will be officiated by
Cardinal Wilfrid Napier, Archbishop of Durban.
