The Director-General of the Department of Social Development Mr Vusi
Madonsela was today, 10 September 2007, appointed first Vice-Chairperson of the
29th General Assembly of the Issa in Moscow, Russia.
The Issa is holding the first World Social Security Forum in Moscow from 10
to 15 September. Mr Madonsela is attending the Forum with the Minister of
Social Development Dr Zola Skweyiya, the CEO of the South African Social
Security Agency Mr Fezile Makiwane and other senior officials.
Mr Madonsela was elected member of the Issa Bureau in 2004 in Beijing,
China. He was elevated to the Strategic Committee of the Bureau in 2006, in
Geneva.
