Annual Western Cape Sport Awards will be held in Stellenbosch on 7 April
2006 at the Van Der Stel Sport Complex. This year's awards will be special as
it will be bestowed on the current Commonwealth team from the Western Cape who
represented South Africa with great distinction in Melbourne, Australia. All
those athletes, players, administrators and coaches who have done the Western
Cape proud during the 2005/06 sporting calendar will be acknowledged.
Special acknowledgement will also be given to those who have passed on
having contributed towards the development of sport and a creation of a home
for all during their sporting careers. A special commendation will also be done
to the family of Mbuyiselo "Peddies" Sodayise from Langa. MEC Jacobs says "it
do us proud to honour current and past sportspeople at the special occasion
with special people at the sport awards.
All sport editors and journalists are invited to attend.
