Approximately 250 delegates from all corners of Western Cape will gather at
the Beach Lagoon Hotel, in Milnerton on 29 July 2006, to develop practical
strategies for the Football Development and Provincial Campaign for 2010 and
beyond. The football summit will be preceded by a gala-dinner hosted by the
provincial government in partnership with the city of Cape Town, where the
Premier will honour Messrs Irvin Khoza, Danny Jordaan and Molefi Olifant for
successfully bringing 2010 World Cup to South Africa.
The participants at the summit will include representatives from all six
regions of the province, South African Football Association executives,
professional teams and ex-professionals.
Some of the crucial topics to be covered in the summit include:
* football development
* state of football in South Africa
* relationship with professional football
* World Cup 2010
* funding and sponsorship

NB: The summit is open to the media but a full media briefing on the
resolutions of the conference will be held at 17h00. Those who prefer staying
