The Directorate of Social Dialogue and Human Rights in the Department of the
Premier, in partnership with the Department of Community Safety, will present a
report capturing issues informing the conflict in the Masiphumelele/ Somali
Conflict. The presentation will include inputs by various other stakeholders
and relevant structures.
This process is a result of an invitation by the parties affected and
implicated in the conflict.

Time: 09h00 - 13h00
The report, signed and approved by the Premier, Ebrahim Rasool, the Director
General, Dr Gilbert Lawrence and MEC Leonard Ramatlakane and will also contain
suggestions of sustainable solutions to the challenge.
Attendance is expected from organisations such as United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), University of Cape Town (UCT) Law Society,
Red Cross Society, US Embassy and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) such as
Africa Unite and Tutumike.
