year.

Manenberg High School showed good improvement in the last three years, from
36,94% in 2004, to 45,35% in 2005; and then 85,29% last year. Perhaps the work
of the Proudly Manenberg Campaign played a role. However, the problem is that
the school could not deliver a single endorsement, which they need to be
challenged on.

Stellenberg High School received the Premiers Awards for Excellence in
Mathematics Higher Grade (HG), for producing the largest number of Maths HG
passes; for best improvement in Physical Science HG and Standard Grade (SG)
over a three year period, while maintaining or increasing enrolment levels of
full-time candidates in Grade 12.

Anine Suzanne Pentz obtained the highest score in Afrikaans First Language
HG; Herman Simon Schaaf received a meritorious academic award; four candidates
made it to the Top 20 List ; including the top candidate Johannes Paulus du
Plessis.

Government wants to reassure the community and school that government has not
forgotten the brutal killing, and that the investigation is making progress,
albeit slowly. Also commend the principal on his creative thinking to combat
vandalism and theft, having asked an armed response security company to base
themselves on the premises.
