Transport to host African Union Road Transport Conference of ministers
during Transport Month, 18 Oct

African Union (AU) road transport ministers special session in
Durban

16 October 2007

African Union (AU) ministers responsible for road transport will converge in
Durban on Thursday to deliberate on proposals and recommendations by road
transport experts. Road transport expects from across the continent have been
engaging on transport imperatives in the continent since Monday.

The AU Roads Conference of ministers and experts will adopt a plan of action
and resolution to improve roads and transport infrastructure in the African
continent to boost the New Partnership for Africa's Development (Nepad)
initiatives and other transport developments.

identity (South African ID book/press card) will be required for security
clearance and gaining access to the event.
