Trade and Industry to present investment climate for tourism during
Tourism Indaba, 8 May

Tourism investment opportunities showcased at Indaba 2006

13 April 2006

Building on its efforts in 2005, Department of Trade and Industry (the dti)
is again providing a platform at the 2006 Tourism Indaba for PIPAs to showcase
tourism investment opportunities in their provinces.

The dti pavilion will feature an investor’s lounge where project
representatives can meet potential investors on a face-to face basis. An inward
buying mission of selected foreign investors hosted by the department supports
the investors lounge.

A collection of exciting projects in various provinces will be profiled this
year. These range from a large-scale themed attraction in Gauteng, resorts and
lodges in KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo to innovative community tourism projects in
Mpumalanga and the Songimvelo-Malolotja Transfrontier Conservation Area.
Northern Cape tourism investment opportunities include a unique outdoor
wilderness school, a rock art centre and a number of resorts while
opportunities in Limpopo include resorts and lodges.

A brief overview of priority projects will also be provided during a dti
presentation on the investment climate for tourism in South Africa. The
presentation will take place on Monday, 8 May 2006, at 15h00 in Hall1ab in the
Durban ICC.
