Exhibition
25 April 2006
For the second year running, South Africa is officially participating in
World Intellectual Property Day. The Department of Trade and Industry (dti),
Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO) and industry
stakeholders have combined efforts to host an exhibition at the dti Campus.
The theme for 2006 is âit starts with an ideaâ, and the day is intended to
raise awareness of how intellectual property touches all aspects of our daily
lives, how copyright helps to bring music to our ears and art to our eyes, how
industrial designs shape our world, how trade marks provide reliable signs of
quality, how patenting promotes ingenious inventions that make life easier,
faster and safer, and sometimes radically change our way of life.
The media is hereby invited to attend a walkabout and media briefing
with:
* The dti Acting Chief Director: Office of Company and Intellectual Property
Enforcement;
* The dti Director: Office of Company and Intellectual Property Enforcement
