The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) is hosting the Innovations in
Export Strategy Consultative Series at the Cape Town International Convention
Centre from 2 to 4 May 2006.
The series focuses on financing export clusters, and the options that are
available to, as well as implications for strategic planners. It is presented
in partnership the International Trade Centre (ITC), based on their research
into Indiaâs approach to financing industrial cluster development as well as
the dtiâs own research on best practices in regional industrial
development.
The Conference will discuss the design and implementation of the Regional
Industrial Development Strategy support measures and the Cluster Support
Programme.
The process is intended to refine and manage implementation of the national
export strategy during interactive consultation to identify approaches that may
be applied in South Africa.
