President Thabo Mbeki will on Tuesday, 22 August, attend the Black Business
Working Group meeting at Tuynhuys in Cape Town at 10h00. President Mbeki will
be accompanied by the Deputy President, Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, cabinet
ministers, including Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mandisi Mpahlwa,
Minister of Finance, Mr Trevor Manuel, his advisors and senior government
officials.
The meeting will discuss inter alia, progress report from black business,
response by black business on the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for
South Africa (AsgiSA), findings of the Black Business Executive Circle,
financing of black business and a submission on Codes of Good Practice.
Representatives of the Black Business Working Group include, amongst others,
Mr Peter Vundla, Chairperson of the Working Group, Ms Nolitha Fakude, Mr Jimmy
Manyi, Dr Namane Magau and Mr Patrice Motsepe.
Media are invited for a photo opportunity at the beginning of the meeting
(10h00) and a media briefing at the end of the meeting (12h00).
