President Thabo Mbeki will on Friday, August 25 attend the Big Business
Working Group meeting at Tuynhuys in Cape Town at 10:00. President Mbeki will
be accompanied by cabinet ministers, including Minister of Trade and Industry,
Mr Mandisi Mpahlwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma,
Minister of Safety and Security, Mr Charles Nqakula and senior government
officials.
This meeting, which follows the last working group meeting held on 30 May
2006, will consider, inter alia, the criminal justice system, an update on the
situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the outcome of the last G8
Summit held in Russia.
Representatives of Big Business include Mr Bobby Godsell, Mr Lazarus Zim, Mr
Kenny Fihla, Mr Mike Spicer and Mr James Fitzgerald.
Media are invited for a photo opportunity at the beginning of the meeting
(10:00) and a media briefing at the end of the meeting (12:00).
