President Thabo Mbeki will host German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, for
political, economic and trade discussions at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on
Friday, 5 October 2007.
Chancellor Merkel is scheduled to arrive in South Africa on Thursday, 4
October 2007. Chancellor Merkel is also scheduled to visit Cape Town while in
South Africa. A more detailed programme will be released as soon as it has been
finalised.
Media wanting to cover the visit should please send an e-mail to the
Department of Foreign Affairs with the following information:
* name
* media house
* designation
* identity or passport number
Responses should be received by Monday, 1 October 2007, before 10h00.
E-mails to be sent to pillaim@foreign.gov.za
Live photo accreditation cards will be produced and media will be informed
soonest as to the venue of the accreditation centre and dates of times of
operation.
