President Thabo Mbeki has conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of
the late businessman, Humphrey Khoza. He said Khoza will be sorely missed not
only by his immediate family but also by thousands of South Africans.
The President added that Khoza was one of the leading elders of black
business who was willing to form partnerships with his African counterparts
beyond our borders. Partnerships amongst business people on the continent, said
the President, were an important catalyst for the economic development of the
continent.
In regard to Khoza's untimely death by a motor accident, the President
expressed grave concern at the recent spate of tragic accidents on our roads,
saying they reinforced the need for the nation to recommit itself to the Arrive
Alive Campaign.
