President Mbeki condemns Mumbai blasts

South African President Thabo Mbeki expressed his outrage and condemnation
of the blasts in Mumbai, India, during which scores are reported to have died
and many others injured.

In a message of support to his counterpart Indian President Abdul Kalam,
President Mbeki said, “The government and people of South Africa join the
international community in expressing its outrage at the blasts in Mumbai today
that killed scores of people while wounding others.”

"In this regard we express our confidence that the Indian authorities will
ensure that those responsible will face the consequences of their own
actions.”

"During this difficult moment we join the people of India in their hour of
bereavement while reaching out to those who lost their loved ones and wishing
those wounded a speedy recovery.”

"Accordingly, Your Excellency please accept the heartfelt condolences of the
government and people of South Africa," concluded President Mbeki.
