Workshop at the International Convention Centre, Cape Town

President Thabo Mbeki will tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 October 2006, attend the
opening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Workshop in Cape Town. He will be
accompanied by Reverend Makhenkesi Stofile, Minister of Sport and Recreation;
Mr Jeff Radebe, Minister of Transport; Mr Sydney Mufamadi, Minister of
Provincial and Local Government; Mr Charles Nqakula, Minister of Safety and
Security; Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk, Minister of Environmental Affairs and
Tourism; and Mr Jabu Moleketi, Deputy Minister of Finance.
The aim of this workshop is to provide the media with an overview on the
status of events and give an update on the organisational status of events.
This workshop serves as a first forum for an exchange of information which FIFA
intends to make a permanent feature in the build-up to 2010.
