Closing ceremony of 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against
Women and Children Abuse

Members of the media are invited to the closing ceremony of the 16 Days of
Activism Against Women and Children Abuse.

The ceremony will be held at the Danie Kuis Stadium in Upington, Northern
Cape, on Sunday 10 December 2006 at 10:30.

President Thabo Mbeki is expected to address the event.

There will be a handing over of the “Torch of Peace” to the Minister of
Transport, Jeff Radebe to kick-start the Arrive Alive campaign.

The President will be accompanied by the Premier of Northern Cape, Ms Dipuo
Peters and the National Convener of 16 days of Activism campaign, Ms Nomatyala
Hangana.
