Mercedes Benz in East London

President Mbeki will on Thursday, 6 September 2007, address the launch of
the new W204 C-Class Mercedes Benz, in East London.
President Mbeki's participation at the launch is an indication that the
South African government acknowledges efforts made by foreign investors in the
country. The government believes that investing in the economy of South Africa
is a key contribution that business can make towards employment creation and
poverty reduction.
This launch by DaimlerChrysler is an achievement which will position East
London and South Africa in the world markets, and serve as an opportunity to
attract investors to the region.
