2006 Africa Symposium on Statistical Development

From 30 January until 2 February 2006, statisticians from all the African
nations will be attending the “2006 Africa Symposium on Statistical
Development” at the International Conference Centre, Cape Town. The focus of
the symposium will be the “2010 Round of Population and Housing Censuses”.

The keynote address will be done by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda whilst
the South African Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel, will officially open the
four-day event.

Journalists who are interested to attend must confirm attendance by 24
January 2006 at 14:00 for accreditation. Access to the venue will only be
granted to accredited journalists.
