T Makwetla message to 2006 Mpumalanga matric class

Premier's message to the matric class of 2006

27 December 2006

On behalf of the provincial government and people of Mpumalanga, I would
like to take this opportunity to congratulate the matric class of 2006 on the
disciplined manner in which they conducted themselves during the course of the
year and during the examinations. Today will forever remain a historic moment
in their lives as they cease to be called learners and they now assume the
title of being students of tertiary institutions.

I would also like to congratulate and thank the educators who worked
tirelessly during the course of the year burning the midnight oil with their
learners to ensure that our province performs well and the learners are
successful in their examinations.

Equally, I would also like to thank the examiners, moderators and
invigilators who ensured and guaranteed that we have a trouble-free
matriculation examination.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate those successful learners and assure
them that the provincial government is proud of them because they have made us
proud through their gallant efforts. Those who were not successful be
encouraged by the adage "try, try and try again". In life you do not give up
after failing. Life is like war. You win some battles and lose some but at the
end of day you must win the war. I have all the confidence that if you are
determined you will make it. Do not despair.
