SAPS Women's Network Forum celebrations

The Women's Network Forum is a gender desk within the South African Police
Service (SAPS), like any other gender desks within other government
departments. Since its inception in 2003, it has produced extremely good
results pertaining to resolutions around contact crimes in the country.

The SAPS women have beyond their line of duty contributed extensively
towards issues around every individual's contribution towards social
responsibilities. They work hand in hand with communities in addressing Social
Crime Prevention challenges.

One of the core objectives of the network is to:

* market career opportunities for all women in all occupational categories
and at all levels in the SAPS in order to ensure a fully representative
workforce.

Therefore, celebration of the national Women's Month by the division:
National Inspectorate, is in line with the theme for 'Women's Month' adopted by
the presidency as: 'Emancipation, empowerment, equality and eradication of
poverty.'

The National Inspectorate is a division within the SAPS which consist of
components such as:

* Support Services
* Complainants Investigations
* Operational Evaluation.

The division uphold the theme in a form of empowering each other with
diverse cultural diversities. The activities planned for the day in question
includes participation in various cultural customs during the event.
