SAPS participation: International Pretoria Show

21 August 2007

22 August to 2 September 2007

Over the years, the South African Police Service (SAPS) has successfully
participated in the internationally acclaimed Pretoria Show and in the process,
garnering gold awards for best exhibition in the security category. As the
final countdown gains momentum, preparations are in full swing in what is
promising to be the ultimate entertaining exhibition ever by the SAPS.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) were meticulously answered by our
knowledgeable, friendly and eager personnel. Feedback received encouraged us to
thoroughly prepare for this year's show, which will be action-packed. The main
theme for the exhibition is 'Together we can make a difference' – supporting
our Act! Against Crime Together campaign.

For the first time ever, the SAPS will have exhibition stands both inside
and outside Hall F. This exercise is intended to make interaction more
effective. In the past, we used to have static displays only, this year it will
be different. A special package will be a puppet show for the kids. On 31
August 2007, at 18h00, we have arranged spectacular and breathtaking
performances by our Air-Wing, National Intervention Unit and the Dog Unit, at
the showground's open arena. Our music band will provide live
entertainment.

Modern brand management clearly indicates that accessibility, identity and
value are the building blocks for successful corporate image. In our case,
interaction with as many people as possible showed our continual desire to
inform and educate everyone. Information sessions concerning careers within the
Service, safety tips, community policing forums (CPF's), firearms and liquor
control, have been some of the issues high on the list of our visitors. Our
target audience cuts above all known demographics within our society – this has
been evident, given the number of visits to our exhibition stand in the
past.

The SAPS exhibitions are unique, making them sought after at major national
events.
