Successful prosecution in a court of law relies mainly on the evidence
provided by witnesses. Individuals who volunteer information when requested to
do so, not only help in the eradication of crime and criminality but also
enables the South African Police Service to provide a safe and secure
environment for all. On 11 September 2006, at approximately 03h30, W Mthonazi
(23), was shot and critically wounded outside Mdala Tavern, situated in Phase
5, Mamelodi East. Sadly, Mthonazi passed on a month later at the Pretoria
Academic Hospital, due to injuries sustained.
A male suspect, aged 22 years, was identified, traced and arrested on 10
December 2006. He is facing a charge of murder and is currently in detention.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) Detective Services, Head Office,
Pretoria, urgently needs to be notified of the current address and/or location
of one K Mtsweni (23 years). She is believed to be somewhere in the greater
Tshwane area. Mtsweni's last known address was 26 781 Phase 5, Mamelodi East.
She is regarded as a key witness and her testimony is deemed to be of the
utmost importance in the prosecution and ultimate conviction of the said
suspect.
