Management"
12 February 2007
"Men for change" forum is a forum that has been introduced on 26 April 2006
by a group of men within the South African Police Service who deemed it
necessary to redefine the existing negative paradigms regarding the role of men
as entrenched in their traditional and cultural makeup through inter alia,
education, awareness and outreach programmes. Their vision is more on becoming
a model in recreating and fostering a community of proud men who will play a
positive role within the South African Police Service, both in personal and
professional spheres of life.
Men for change forum aspire to achieve objectives such as: advocating a
gender friendly culture and climate, preventing the risk of suicide/homicide
among police officials, redefining the essence of fatherhood "today" and
prevention of harassment free environment. The above initiative has gained a
magnificent momentum to such an extent that employees would like to hear more;
hence the event of this calibre was organised.
Interviews and photo session will be granted on request.
