South African Management Development Institute to host Public Service
Trainers' Conference, 10 – 14 Sept

Advisory: 10th Annual Public Service Trainers’ Conference

4 September 2006

The South African Management Development Institute (SAMDI) will host the
10th Public Service Trainers' forum Conference in partnership with national
departments.

The Public Service Trainers' Forum (PSTF) is a non-statutory, non-profit
making body made up of Public Service Human Resource Development (HRD)
practitioners. It was established in 1997 as a response to a need for a forum
that can bring together all HRD practitioners within the Public Service. In
this forum, the practitioners get a chance to discuss issues such as uniformity
and consistency in the HRD standards and quality, ways of enhancing
communication and liaison between bodies and institutions or organisations,
which employ or make use of them.

The aim of this year’s conference is, among others, to mark the 10th
anniversary of the formation of the PSTF and offer an opportunity for the
attendees to reflect on the impact of the PSTF to date and to renew the
commitment to build the human resource capacity of the state to improve service
delivery. The theme for this conference is: “Enhancing capacity through skills
development for accelerated economic growth and improved service delivery”.
Approximately 600 delegates are expected to attend this conference.

Date and venue of PSTF conference:
Date: 10 – 14 September 2006
Venue: Sandton Convention Centre
Registration: R3 000.00
