a. Disability Awareness Event
The Deputy Minister of Social Development, Dr Jean Benjamin is to visit the
community of Calvinia to promote the rights of persons with disabilities, and
highlight the challenges that they face especially in remote areas in the
country.

b. World AIDS Day Celebrations

c. 16 Days of Activism
The Deputy Minister, Dr Benjamin will undertake two activities aimed at
highlighting services to women and children facing abuse, as part of the 16
days campaign against the abuse of women and children.
(i). Dr Benjamin will officially launch a shelter for abused women at
Badplaas in Mpumalanga province.

(ii) Deputy Minister Benjamin will join the Queens and wives of Chiefs of
Mpumalanga Province under the theme "Act against Elderly Women Abuse." The
event will target elderly women around the Mbombela municipality.
