SAPS to hold passing out parade of trainees, 23 Jun

Invitation to the media passing out parade of trainees

The media is invited to a passing out parade of 1 878 trainees who have
successfully completed the first six months of their Basic Training Learning
Programme (BTLP) at the South African Police Service (SAPS) training
institution in Pretoria West on Friday, 23June 2006.

The trainees also underwent a gruelling street survival programme which is
presented to empower them to deal with life threatening situations which they
may encounter in the daily execution of their duties.

The passing out parade will be incorporated with the 10th year Commemoration
Medal Parade of eight Assistant Commissioners from the division training in the
SAPS.

The main speaker will be the Deputy Minister for Safety and Security, Ms
Susan Shabangu.
