S Selao to launch Polio and Measles Campaign, 7 May

MEC for Health, Ms Shiwe Selao, will launch the provincial leg
of the Mass Polio and Measles Campaign in Kimberley in the Northern Cape

3 May 2007

A nationwide Mass Polio and Measles Campaign will commence on Monday. It is
required that all children under the age of five be vaccinated against Polio
and that all children between nine and 59 months be vaccinated against measles.
Children under five who have already received these vaccinations more than two
weeks prior to the campaign should also present at immunisation stations to
receive booster shots.

The vaccinations are available free of charge at all clinics and parents and
guardians are advised to bring their children to the nearest immunisation
points because immunisation plays a major part in providing protection, as well
as ensuring survival, growth and development of children.
