season
20 December 2007
"We have come to the end of a crucial year in the history of our country.
This is the time to be with our loved ones. Whenever we talk of family, we
always refer to the living, to the departed and the yet to be born. This is the
time to strengthen family bonds.
KwaZulu-Natal is on track to ensure that 2,1 million people who cannot read
and write are literate by 2009.
In November 2007, KwaZulu-Natal was host to 204 of 208 countries of the
world who came for the 2010 Federation International Football Association
(Fifa) World Cup Preliminary Draw. We gave them our well-known hospitality for
which South Africa thanks you.
During the festive season we are, yet again, going to welcome millions of
people who normally do not reside in KwaZulu-Natal. They will be visiting
KwaZulu-Natal because our province is the best place to be after the stress and
strain of the year gone by.
They will be here because this is the place to relax and unwind. They will
be here because KwaZulu-Natal has the altitude, aptitude and attitude, the best
our country can offer.
On behalf the provincial government of KwaZulu-Natal, we take this
opportunity of wishing all our citizens a happy and peaceful festive season and
all the best for 2008." said the Premier.
