KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Sibusiso Ndebele, accepts apology from
Inkatha Freedom Party leader, Lionel Mtshali

19 November 2007

The recent media statements by KwaZulu-Natal Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP)
leader, Dr Lionel Mtshali, on allegations regarding KwaZulu-Natal Premier
Sibusiso Ndebele's business interests, refer.

Premier Ndebele has received the unconditional retraction and apology of the
false and defamatory statement made by Dr Mtshali.

"I accept the apology and retraction made by Dr Mtshali. At a broader level,
it is not edifying for two senior leaders to be at each other's throats. We
hope that this brings an end to this sorry saga. We look forward to all
KwaZulu-Natal leaders working together for the betterment of the people of our
province.

As the Bible says, "Do not give heed to all the things that men say, lest
you hear your servant cursing you." (Ecclesiastes 7:21). It also says: "Better
the end of a thing than its beginning." (Ecclesiastes 7:8)," Quoted the Premier
Ndebele.
