S Moloto on festive season message

Festive message from Limpopo Premier Sello Moloto

30 November 2007

The year 2007 is coming to an end. It was a year full of so many
accomplishments and possibilities in various fronts. We can count a number
achievements as well as setbacks too. Key amongst some of our great milestones
includes, the massive investments currently being made by the private sector
and government in mining, tourism and other sectors of our economy. These
investments are highly critical, as they offer enormous hope to the people of
our province who have vested all their faith and aspirations on the success of
an African National Congress (ANC) led government. We have got every reason not
to doubt that, the oncoming national conference of the ANC, which is to be held
in our province, shall further consolidate our programmatic onslaught against
challenges of unemployment, disease, hunger and underdevelopment.

As we bring 2007 to a close, and usher in a whole new chapter in 2008, we
trust that this will indeed be a year in which the dreams and hopes of many of
our people get realised. We believe that every citizen of our province will
have a restful festive season characterised by joy, peace and tranquillity. In
particular, our prayers and thoughts go out to members of the Christian faith
who will celebrate Christmas holidays during this period. As in the past, we
wish them inner peace, joy and fulfilment, during this festive period.

For those who will be travelling to various holiday destinations, this is
the time to heed the Arrive Alive message. We expect every motorist and every
pedestrian to adhere to all traffic regulations. In this regard, we especially
wish to call on all road users to be considerate towards other road-users and
pedestrians. This means driving within the required speed limit, exercising
caution, not overloading vehicles and abstaining from drinking and driving.
Like in all other years, there will be law enforcement officers deployed on
site to arrest and prosecute those who ignore traffic regulations.

We particularly also wish to convey our sincere gratitude to all those
workers, who will be performing essential duties during this period. Our
message to them is that they must exercise extreme caution and care when
dealing with members of the community. People's lives are in their hands and it
will be expected of them to carry out their duties with due diligence and
commitment.

Let the festive season begin.

Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year!
