and gives government an opportunity to discuss the national Programme of Action

Initiative for South Africa (AsgiSA) with local communities.

As part of the programme, the three Deputy Ministers will visit the
Sundumbili Skills Campus of the Umfolozi College, Stanger Provincial Hospital,
the KwaDukuza Sappi Resource Centre and the Chief Albert Luthuli Museum where
they will meet with the staff of the institutions.

The focus of the programme is to consolidate the work of the local
municipalities following the Local Government Elections to ensure effective
co-ordination in all spheres of government.

Project visits will bring awareness of AsgiSA process in order to facilitate
the accelerated and shared economic growth. The visit to Umfolozi College –
Sundumbili Skills Campus - will focus on the need to accelerate skills
development.

The visit to Stanger Provincial Hospital is to enable the Ministers to look
at, first hand, and discuss government’s revitalisation programme for public
hospitals.

The visit to KwaDukuza Sappi Resource Centre is a demonstration of
partnerships with the private sector to facilitate the uptake of Information
and Communications Technologies (ICTs) skills amongst the youth. The expansion
ICTs infrastructure to ensure accelerated growth is an important component of
the AsgiSA process.

The highlight of the mission is a local Imbizo, where a people’s forum would
be held in Groutville at Chief Albert Luthuli Memorial Centre.

Commenting on the proposed Imbizo, the Deputy Minister of Communications,
