The Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Ms Rejoice
Mabudafhasi, will be officially opening a community based infrastructure
development in the West Coast National Park on Monday, 3 April 2006.
The project forms part of the Sustainable Coastal Livelihoods Programme
(SCLP), which is aimed at creating alternative ways of sustainable livelihood
through developing alternative tourist accommodation within the West Coast
National Park and empowers local communities in Langebaan to manage and run it
as a business for income generation.
The SCLP have implemented a total of 15 projects throughout the South
African coast of which this project will be the second in the Western Cape to
be officially launched.
Members of the media are invited to attend the opening on Monday, 3 April
2006, at 11h00 at Geelbek Restaurant, West Coast National Park, and
Duinepos.
