The Public Service Commission releases a report on the
evaluation of the policy framework on managing HIV and AIDS in the Public
Service

The Public Service Commission (PSC) will be releasing a report on the
evaluation of the policy framework on managing HIV and AIDS in the Public
Service at a Media Briefing to be held as follows:

Date: Thursday, 8 June 2006
Time: 10h00 – 11h30 am.
Venue: Pretoria [Room 321, Commission House, c/o Hamilton and Ziervogel
Streets, Arcadia].

The media is invited to this briefing.

The primary focus on this report is to determine the extent to which the
Public Service is implementing the policy framework; and progress on the
establishment of employee assistance programmes and their impact on providing
services to people living with HIV and AIDS. Furthermore, the report seeks to
identity opportunities and threats regarding HIV and AIDS in the workplace and
best practices to minimise such threats and to optimise opportunities to
sustain a stable Public Service.

The Chairperson of the PSC, Prof Stan Sangweni and the Director-General,
Office of the Public Service Commission, Ms Odette Ramsingh will address the
media.
