South Africa hosts Global Forum Five

22 March 2007

The South African government will be hosting the Global Forum Five on
fighting corruption and safeguarding integrity, from 2 April to 5 April 2007,
Sandton, South Africa.

The conference will be attended by ministers and senior officials as well as
representatives of state bodies from over 100 countries with over 1 500
delegates expected. Heads of anti-corruption and law-enforcement agencies as
well as officials from government agencies dealing with governance, the Public
Service, anti-corruption, money laundering and customs will also attend the
Forum.

The main objective of the Global Forum is to discuss practical and effective
measures for preventing and fighting corruption. The forum hosted for the first
time on African soil will infuse the international discourse with an African
perspective and will showcase Africa's anti-corruption experiences and good
practices.

Global Forum Five is to be held as follows
Date: 2-5 April 2007
Venue: Sandton Convention Centre (Gauteng)

NB: Media are advised to forward their accreditation details (ID/ passport
numbers, media house, name and surname) before the start of the Global Forum
Five meeting. Only accredited media will be allowed access to Global Forum
Five.
