The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) though the Office
of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) is hosting an e-Government
learning network workshop. The theme for the workshop is, 'understanding
Information Communication Technology (ICT) legislation to enhance
compliance'.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
* improve the understanding of ICT policies and regulations in the Public
Service
* create a forum for ICT practitioners and decision makers within the Public
Service to assess the contribution of ICT legislations to e-Government,
share information, exchange knowledge and best practice
* identify policy gaps and chart way forward for addressing these gaps.
The workshop is an attempt to understand the reason/s behind non-compliance
and to collectively seek ways of raising awareness of legislative requirements
and promoting public service that respect the rule of law.
