Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka will, on 14 July 2006, commence with
the first leg of her two-day Presidential Imbizo in the Eden District
Municipality in the Western Cape province. She will interact with various
stakeholders with the aim of strengthening the capacity of municipalities in
this area.
The Deputy President will be accompanied by the Premier of the Western Cape
Mr Ebrahim Rasool, Ministers of Health, Education, Environmental Affairs and
Tourism, Home Affairs, Water Affairs and Forestry and Deputy Ministers of Arts
and Culture and of Trade and Industry.
The Deputy President and her delegation will interact with various
stakeholders in the district, including the municipal leadership. The event
will culminate in a community Imbizo at the Kwa Nokuthula Stadium, Kwa
Nokuthula.
She will also embark on a door-to-door walkabout of the Nekkies area and she
will also visit a number of community projects in the Bitou Municipality.
