Members of the media are invited to a school outreach programme hosted by
The Spousal Support Office in The Presidency, at the Union Buildings, Pretoria,
on 11 May 2006.
The Spousal Office is the office of the First Lady and the spouse of the
Deputy President.
The school children will be afforded an opportunity to take a photo with the
Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
The school outreach programme aims to provide an opportunity for schools,
with particular focus on rural schools, to learn about the history of the
liberation struggle and the new democracy.
This is done through a guided tour of the Union Buildings, Mahlamba Ndlofpu
and the Freedom Park Heritage site.
Just over 70 school children from six schools will take part.
This important event is scheduled as follows:
